Keynote in Intl Conf on “Research into Design” (#ICoRD19). My topic: “#Design for #ConnectedThings“. While design traditionally focuses on development of discrete products, the present trend is to add a smart layer, which makes them connectable, context-aware and responsive. Highlights in my keynote has been on elements (e.g #FlexibleDisplay), products (e.g, #SmartWatch), and connected systems (e.g, #SmartLiving and #ConnectedCar). How do products and their design-dev change in a connected world? In the other keynote, Prof. John Gero talked about behavior of brain while ‘#designing‘. He is author of 50+ books and brought in research concepts around ‘how to measure engagement and emotions in designing process’.
